Collection: Commissions

Commissions:

I do take on a few commissions each year. I prefer book related subject matter. Please be aware that I cannot make an exact copy of a book, due to copyright infringement. Contact me first about the painting you may have in mind. We will discuss size, medium, and cost before I begin the painting. You will receive updates and progress photos along the way.  Commissioning a painting is a huge exercise in trust, and I truly take that to heart.

Cost:

The commission cost is dependent on the size of each project. With the additional time, energy, communication, and creativity that goes into completing a commissioned painting, there is an increase in price for these paintings when compared to my other works. At least 50% of the commission cost is due after sketch is approved.  The remaining 50% is due before the work is shipped.  Cost is non-refundable due to the nature of the work. 

Timeline:

I paint only in oil which takes longer to dry before I can ship it safely. If you're considering a commission as a gift, please keep this in mind and communicate your timing needs up front. 

Shipping:

Depending on your location, we will coordinate shipping or delivery depending on the size of the painting. 

Framing:

Painting comes unframed but I can offer framing at an "additional" cost.
